The world is drowning in certificates. Certificates for attendance. Certificates for subscriptions. Certificates for sitting still until the timer ran out. None of them answer the two questions actually worth asking: can you do the work, and can you be trusted with it?
A Beam answers both — or it isn’t granted. That’s the whole design.
A Beam is Sunbeam’s badge of recognition. It’s granted by the Sunbeam team when they feel you’ve reached a level of professional development and moral understanding they’d be comfortable with you representing the network.
Brilliant work with dubious character doesn’t get a Beam. A heart of gold with nothing finished doesn’t either.
Once granted, a Beam is how the network vouches for you before it meets you.
No fee unlocks it. No course guarantees it. No streak earns it.
A Beam that could be bought would be worth exactly what you paid for it. Ours can’t, so it isn’t. Scarcity isn’t the product here — honesty is.
Three roads. All of them are work.
Finish your thing, and finish it well. Three months, one finished piece of work, seen through to the end. Most people’s first Beam comes from here.

A Beam is a standing invitation to the Sunbeam membership. Mention it and you’re in — the network already vouched for you.
✹CommunityA Beam tells us you finish what you start — which is most of what an accelerator needs to know. It’s a strong signal when you bring your thing to us.
✹AcceleratorUniversally understandable is the ambition: legible to employers, collaborators, and strangers — inside Sunbeam or far outside it. Eventually verifiable by anyone.

You don’t apply for a Beam. The team grants them when the work and the character both show.
A Beam doesn’t expire, and it can’t be taken from you by a subscription lapse.

You don’t. There’s no application — we just notice. Do the work somewhere we can see it.
No. That’s the whole point.
It’s the opposite. A certificate says you were there. A Beam says you’re ready.
